Over the years, Archigia has developed four distinct Business Units, united by a common vision: an integrated method combining research, design, production and the management of brand identity programmes at national and international scale.
Research & Development energy efficiency projects
Archigia è attiva nel campo della ricerca e dello sviluppo di nuovi progetti e iniziative legate al design del settore retail collaborando con i più prestigiosi Atenei in Italia. Since 2012, in collaboration with the Department of Industrial Design of Rome, the Faculty of Architecture of Rome, and under the patronage of the City of Rome and the Italian Petroleum Union, we have developed new formats for fuel service stations.
Together with the Politecnico di Torino, we funded a scholarship for young graduates to study new service station models with high energy sustainability through the use of renewable sources (photovoltaic, wind, heat pumps).
Archigia has also installed numerous photovoltaic systems for the Q8 group.
Archigia participates in smart city initiatives promoted by public administrations, contributing its expertise to develop original solutions in the public interest.
In collaboration with the Faculty of Economics at Sapienza University of Rome and Prof. Francesco Ricotta, lecturer in business economics and management, for a market research study.
Archigia strongly believes in research and university collaboration. This is where the most vibrant energy emerges, taking shape in various projects — some already realised in the field. Through a series of conferences at the Campidoglio, under the patronage of the Italian Petroleum Union, we have proposed new architectural formats for small, medium and large service areas, where visibility, screening and atypical architectural forms found an unusual yet stimulating space in the work of young graduates.
Under the patronage of the Piedmont Region and the expert guidance of Giacomo Orlando — Coordinator of the Regional Technical Group on Fuels — we developed a significant synergy with the Politecnico di Torino. Working closely with Prof. Fracastoro and with the support of the Italian Petroleum Union and Dr. Marina Barbanti, we developed the theme of energy efficiency in service stations. The projects contributed to stimulating debate and fostering research into new green solutions for fuel retail.
Archigia designs new architectural forms for points of sale, with constant attention to aesthetics and maximum functional performance.
Our traditional expertise in steel canopy systems has been complemented by new activity in the construction and on-site installation of facades, canopies and building cladding in composite materials including Alucobond®, ALbond® and Dibond®. We have an AluRanger® machining centre with a milling bed of 2.10 x 4.20 m, enabling us to work all plastic and ACM materials.
We are currently working on the coordinated image, totems and LED walls for NatPower (Zaha Hadid Project) and the coordinated image, totems and canopies for Enimarine (Artelia Project).
A new concept developed for Sacoil, encapsulating the expressive power of a new architectural language for a fuel retail site. The fluid lines requested by the client connect the various functions of the service station and define its innovative identity. We developed the executive design for all systems, civil works and fittings, with personalisation of all identifying elements on the forecourt.
Our Saudi client requested an innovative format for their fuel network. The minimal rainfall allowed us to develop a concept prioritising shade over the fuelling area. The canopy, conceived as a palm tree, shelters the area below; brise-soleil panels define the zone protected from direct sunlight.
Archigia developed a new concept for small service stations in historic city centres. The use of colourful materials that harmonise with local heritage, and forms that adapt naturally to any setting, have made this proposal a recurring benchmark — with multiple installations in Rome and Milan for IP Italia Petroli and Tamoil.
Archigia è anche in grado di sviluppare nuove idee per l'identità visiva di tutti i punti vendita. Prototipi Enilive – Design Artelia – Nuovo brand design Turriziani Petroli a cura di Archigia.
Archigia is also capable of developing new visual identity concepts for all points of sale. Prototypes for Enilive – Design Artelia – New brand design for Turriziani Petroli by Archigia.
For Q8 Italia, we developed various structures: a two-level canopy with a central LWD flasher unit, iconic flag structures and totems across multiple sites in the national network.
Archigia has produced not only forecourt accessories but also planters with seating, waste bins, air and water columns and hand sanitiser stations.
Archigia worked with Iplanet on the design, concept and installation of 500 electric vehicle charging sites.
This new concept was born from a collaboration with Arch. M. Bevilacqua of the Department of Industrial Design of Rome. The brand uses colour and logo to characterise the simplicity of the proposed lines, turning the small service station into a recognisable urban icon.
The company's core business is the production and management of major brand identity programmes, with a complete service from concept through to installation.
The development of signage systems is an integral part of our expertise in managing brand identity programmes for entire retail networks.
The use of thermoformed plastics, box-profile structures, brass or stainless steel lettering, careful study of internal lighting, and a dedicated department for electronic component management ensure quality control and the selection of the best components available on the market today.
From the initial concept, we take care of the identity our clients require, with particular attention to design quality and finishing execution.
Archigia developed for Eni a signage system based on custom extruded profiles, ensuring visual consistency and ease of installation across the national network. A project combining detailed engineering and cohesive brand identity delivery.
In collaboration with ACPV Architects, Archigia contributed to the concept development and production of brand identity elements, interpreting the studio's design guidelines with our production expertise and our ability to translate architecture into high-quality serial elements.
For Q8 Italia, Archigia designed and engineered the twisted totem for the flagship station at Erbusco — a complex geometric structure requiring precision machining of composite materials. The result is an iconic element that defines the point of sale and communicates the brand's premium positioning.
For Retitalia, Archigia developed the Skin refitting system: a modular cladding solution that overlays existing structures without demolition, dramatically reducing installation time and disposal costs. The Skin system enables a complete visual refresh of the point of sale with custom graphics, in line with the principles of reuse and sustainability.

Under the maintenance contract for advertising systems for the AdMoving group, Archigia carried out a series of non-invasive inspections to verify the structural integrity of advertising poster supports at Autostrade per l'Italia SpA service areas. We used state-of-the-art equipment to measure the thickness of load-bearing structures in situ and verified foundation integrity using ground-penetrating radar.
Archigia is able to produce brand identity elements, managing the entire process from design through to workshop production. For Winxo, we engineered a new construction system to optimise and reduce the cost of an identity that was initially too expensive. Understanding the requirements for a successful new identity and ensuring long-term durability and ease of maintenance, Archigia proposed a new modular construction system with significant savings in time and costs.
In both rebranding programmes — the first involving ERG with approximately 1,800 sites, and in 2019-2020 the Api Group with over 2,500 service stations — Archigia engineered and proposed to the client a complete production system covering all corporate identity elements. For IP, Archigia designed the fascias, price displays and pump toppers using composite materials (ACM), screen-printed thermoforms with impact-resistant acrylics, innovative price display formats and LED variable messaging. This expertise then led to securing the supply and installation contracts for the majority of the restyled sites.
For the new Enilive fascia project, Archigia developed the structural engineering of the system, designing and prototyping the extruded profile of the ENI light fascia along with a set of brackets and extrusions dedicated to fixing the new Enilive livery. A solution designed to simplify installation, improve maintenance and ensure uniformity across the entire network.

Archigia designs and builds EV charging infrastructure on a turnkey basis, managing every phase of the process: site surveys, permitting, civil works, system pre-installation, charger installation, transformer substations, testing and commissioning.
We are active in the green mobility sector with hundreds of completed projects across Italy and over 1,500 charging points installed for operators including Be Power, Be Charge, Electrip and other leading EV mobility players.
Among our most significant projects, Archigia completed a high-power charging hub at Centro Commerciale Roma Est, comprising six Alpitronic 300 kW chargers, a medium-voltage transformer substation, civil works and full installation through to commissioning.
Our expertise stems from the integration of technical design, production capability, site management and design culture. We therefore approach EV charging infrastructure not merely as technological apparatus, but as new urban spaces — orderly, accessible, recognisable and coherent with their context.
From this vision comes HUBIS, a project conceived by Archigia to transform EV charging areas into urban regeneration spaces, where energy, design, photovoltaics, greenery, lighting and public art can coexist.
Urban Mobility, for Archigia, means contributing to the energy transition by building efficient infrastructure — and better spaces for the city.
